Austin, TX - テキサスの州都

テキサス州の州都であり、毎年SXSW(South by Southwest)という祭典の行われる町です。Stephen F. Austinの名前がつけられていますが、元はWaterlooという町でした。[見所: 州議事堂、博物館、州墓地]　(2015年2月訪問)
  1. 州議事堂(Texas State Capital): Elijah E.Myersによって1881年に設計され、翌1882年から6年掛けて建設されました。 イタリア･ルネッサンス様式の建物は、米国の議事堂より高い。ちなみに1853年に同じ場所に先代の議事堂があったのですが、 1881年に炎上してしまいました。- 1100 Congress Ave Austin, TX 78701
