Introduction: This year, my wife does not want to take a trip to mountain area. Encounter with bears have been a big issue these days so going to wooded for trekking may not be a suitable choice. I proposed her to go to Tsuruga, where located by the sea so some good seafood will be there. Bought tickets on the 13th of July, plenty of seats were available, opposite from what I expected so I was lucky.
Woke up at 5:30am as usual, stretched my body, the rain is expected to be on and off today since the typhoon 15 just passed over this region overnight.
Leaving home at 7:10am. It was early in the morning but the there are people commuting already. We were able to catch one train early, travelled in a fairly packed car and arrived Nagoya on time.
We switched the platform to No. 4. The train was there and ready for departure. We took a seat and waited then the it left on time toward Gifu. The train stopped at several stations, and it was getting filled. The sky was cloudy but no rain. The train arrived at Maibata at 8:50am, switching the direction so passengers flipped the seats in the car.

It's only one more hour to go, this time the train moved in less populated area with many tunnels. The train began slowing down and reached the platform on time. Now were are ready for the seafood.
After walking out from the train, we began our day. The first destination was the fish market, known for the size in the region. I saw there are some statues on the main street, some are from Galaxy Express 999 and others are from Yamato. I found Dr. Sado drinking Sake.

We walked to the market. It was covered and many venues are there. There are about 5 restaurant serving seafood bowl, and other places serve crab meat. I think it is mainly for people coming in a group, like tour buses..
We found a place, did not have to line up since it was still early before 11:00am. We had a lunch, which was good but the servings was smaller than expected.

After the lunch, we walked toward city hall. There was a river along the way and a lot of koi fish was swimming.

The next destination is Kehi shrine but also found an old looking shrine on the way. After stopping by, we have learned Mito Tengu Party incident at the end of Tokugawa period. About 300 soldiers were executed here.

We wanted to continue to the port, but my wife was getting overheated so I promised her that the first place we find we will stop and take a break and she found one. The place had a table and chairs so this is perfect. Decided to eat shaved ice. The store must be famous because the display had many items sold out. I was told that during obon season, people line up and buy from the morning.

She is finally happy and we continued for a little more, swinging by a monument, followed by brick warehouse.

We then began walking toward Tsuruga Red Brick Warehouse. It was built back in 1905. In the inside, it's now a cafe and museum.
Kiha 28 Serial No. 3019 was initially built as 1019 in 1968 and converted.

Began walking back on the way we came from under summer like weather, stopping by at souvenir places and arrived back at the station. There is a Starbucks nearby so we took a break there until 3:45pm.

After we are all done, we crossed the gate at 3:55pm, walked up to the bridge to the platform 34. The train was already there so we took seats and waited. The train began moving on time. It was a quiet and comfortable ride but the number of passengers were larger comparison to the morning. Many passengers got off at Maibara after arriving at 4:43pm, and the train continued toward Nagoya, stopping at Ogaki, Gifu, Owariichinomiya on the way and the train reached Nagoya.

On the train, we planned for the dinner, the good part of modern days is I can order pizzas online.
After arriving back to Nagoya, we hurried to the platform for Chuo line. We were able to catch one train early so we arrived at Ozone a little earlier than planned. My wife heads to grocery store for salad, and I walk to Domino's for the pizza. While I was walking, the sky gets dark and maybe rain is coming.
Dinner
We had dinner, and I went back to my room and studied for Saturday's exam. It was a long walk nearly 30km with a lot of sunburn.
